Rain

The wind blew all the leaves into a row in front of the house, our maples are almost bare. The neighbors tree across the drive is still green, I was told that the maples that are still green are Norway maple.

Late afternoon we had enough rain to flood the ball diamond, the temp was a pleasant 15.

Monday ride

There was seven riders for the Monday ride, I rode the trail from the mall to North Wiltshire and back to Winsloe.
There was several places in the Hampshire and North Wiltshire that the trail was completed covered with leaves.
It was a pleasant 17 with sunny breaks and clouds at times. As I cycled from home on the road, I had logged 50 km on the bike by the time I was back home.

walk in woods

I took a walk in the woods in the afternoon, the little bridge seems like it is good for another winter.

Lots of maple leaves on this trail.

This maple doesn't know that it is fall, the leaves are as green as they were all summer.
Overcast at 11 with drizzle most of the day.  No cycling today.

Combine at work

I was cycling this afternoon when I saw this combine harvesting soybeans. It was sunny at 12 when I left home but clouded over before I got home. I logged about 30 km. I had breakfast with the retired firefighters and this evening I was to a church supper in Cornwall.

I am back

After being away for a couple of weeks I am back with photos.  This is the morning sunrise in South Carolina with the morning star (Venus)still visible in the upper right.

I mowed the lawn today with the bagger to pick up the leaves, unfortunately there is still a lot of leaves to fall. I had 20 plus bags of leaves, enough to almost fill one cell of the compost bin.

I purchased a new Schwinn bicycle and had put about 175 km on it before I left for home.

Clouds on a windy day

Rain in morning, then it cleared but windy, 50 gusting to 80 km/h from the southwest. Temp at 10.

Some of the dark clouds had rain in them, as a few scattered showers in the late afternoon.

No cycling today, I was packing for a trip. So posting will be intermittent for the next few days.

Fall colours

Rain in morning, sunny breaks in afternoon and windy, high of 14.
No cycling. These photos are of the trees to the west of the ballfield.

The colours look better if I had the full sun on them but the grass is a solid green.
I will have to cut the lawn again.  I attended a retired firefighters meeting this evening.

Flowers

The town maintains these flower beds by the intersection, no frost yet so they are still looking good.
After lunch I was cycling for a while, then I was up the 48' tower to install a part.  Hopefully it is the last time this summer.  I was at cards this evening in Warren Grove.  Sunny at 9.

Clouds

I was at Sherwood road at 5:00 when I took this photo, only one cyclists showed up, so she went home and I cycled home via Winsloe.

A few breaks in the clouds, this is looking across the North River towards Cows creamery.

Near Royalty Junction this maple was showing its fall colours.
I visited the neighbors in the morning and after lunch was to the wood lot for three hours.
Mostly cloudy and at 5:00 it was only 9.

Sunday walk

A maple on our street is showing its colours.

In the afternoon I took a walk though the woods by the ballfield, this field of soybeans are ready to be harvested.

One of the trails in the woods, the sunlight made interesting patterns among the trees.
Mostly sunny at 12.  No cycling today, all the family here for Thanksgiving dinner.

Confederation Trail in Bloomfield

This afternoon I cycled from Tignish to O'Leary on the trail, this photo of the fall colours and the bridge is near Bloomfield.

I have being to the museum and it is worth a visit. It was mostly cloudy with a few sunny breaks but with a strong wind, gusting to 50 km/h at times and mostly a head wind so the 45 km ride was a bit of a workout.
It is a 140 km drive to Tignish.

Cruise ship

In the afternoon I cycled into Charlottetown and around Victoria Park, this is the view of the entrance to the Charlottetown harbour.

As you can see by the flag by the cannons, the is a fair breeze blowing.

This is the cruise ship docked by the marine wharf.  I then cycled the trail to Winsloe and the road home.
Mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks at 18.

Trail maintenance

Today I cycled from York to Mount Stewart and back to York. The maintenance crew were putting down fresh gravel in places, this was just west of Mount Stewart.
Some nice fall colours in this area as well.

This is the drag that they use for the leveling of the trail surface, I met it in Scotchfort.
I logged 45 km for the trip. Overcast with the threat of rain at 15.

Changing season

It was sunny at 18 this afternoon, these photos taken in Hampshire, the trees are starting to show the fall colours.

We had over 50 mm of rain in the last week but you would never know it on the gravel trail. It dries out quickly. I cycled from Milton to Hazel Grove and back to Milton, about 40 km. I met a few cyclists on the trail.  I attended a radio club meeting this evening.

Woods

I was in the wood lot for a couple of hours this afternoon mostly moved brush so the walking trail is clear.
Most of the trees in the photo are white pine.
While I was taking a break I had a pair of Chickadee's come by, I took several photos but did not get a good one, this one is the best of the lot.
I visited with the neighbors in morning. Afternoon was sunny at 19 but raining this evening, at times heavy  with thunder in the distance.
