Walk in the woods

 It was -6 and windy when I went for a 45 minute walk this afternoon,  the creek had ice on it but not strong enough to hold me. It was -11 overnight.

Some spruce straight  and tall, maybe 15 m. No cycling to day, but the season total as of now is 7,360 km.
I attended the Radio club Christmas dinner this evening.

 I was to the Canadian Blood Services today for a plasma donation.

It was overcast  all day with a few breaks in the clouds at -2

We had very little snow last night, it barely covered the driveway. But I understand that there where places in the east got close to 10 cm.

A little bit of snow

 I spend three hours at the wood lot in the afternoon, it was overcast with a bit of very light snow, Temp was zero.
Because it was -8 overnight the ground was frozen, there was just enough snow to make it white.

School day

 I spend the morning with two other hams speaking to grade nine students on what ham radio is.

In the afternoon I cycled to the Farmers Market, then to Winsloe on the trail, then home. It was sunny but a cool -3 with a 15 km/h wind. I saw one other cyclist and a fair number of people walking. This section of the trail is near the Charlottetown mall.  I was to Warren Grove for cards this evening.
It is -8 as I make this posting.

Another cycling day

It was sunny at 1 with winds 25 gusting to 40 km/h when I was cycling.  I met two other cyclists on the trail.

I cycled to Charlottetown, picked up the trail at Farmer's Market and cycled to Hampshire, then back to Milton and took the road home logging 40 km by the time I was home.
I visited neighbors in morning and worked on a presentation that I am doing in the morning to a group of grade nine students.

Car wash

 I was to Cornwall in morning, after lunch I had my car to the car wash, it needed a cleaning.

About 3:30 I went for a walk though the woods. It was windy, 40 gusting to 60 km/h, overcast with sunny breaks in afternoon, temp was holding around zero, -1 as I post.

The new convention center is staring to take shape at the Charlottetown waterfront.
I had breakfast with the firefighters in morning and got the snow blower ready in the afternoon.
I was to cards in Hampshire this evening.  Rain all day, 11 in morning and now down to 6

Moon

A sunny day with a high of 9.  I was to the wood lot in morning, I went cycling after lunch. I cycled to Victoria park, the to Joe Ghiz park, then the trail to Winsloe and home.  I attended a church auction this evening.

Geese & Victoria park

 I was in the wood lot in morning, went cycling around 2:00 PM, the geese were at Ellen creek.

 This is the opening into the Charlottetown harbour, no sail boats today.

There were a few people walking on the board walk. It was sunny at 9 but a cool breeze coming off the water.  After leaving the park I cycled to the Confederation Trail and cycled it to Winsloe then home by the road.

Wood lot

 I was at the wood lot for a few hours today, It looked like this before I started.

After a couple hours it looks like this.  The day started sunny but mid afternoon, we had a few light showers.
A high temp of 6. I planned to cycle when I got home from the lot but because of the showers decided to sharpen the saw, also I had a neighbor's saw to sharpen. When I sharpen the saw I usually blow the dust of the engine and turn the cutting bar at the same time.

 The cycling season is near over, Public works has closed toilet.

I cycled to the mall, then to North Wiltshire where this toilet is located, then back to Milton and then took Rte 248 home logging 40 km.  Sunny at 7, a nice day for the time of year.

More geese

 I went at 1:30 with the Sherwood road group, there were seven of us today.
This field of geese was in York and the cyclists ahead of me were in York as well.

I visited neighbors in morning and cycled in afternoon. It was -6 overnight but by the time I was cycling it was sunny at 6 with light wind.

I was cycling after lunch, these geese and a few ducks were at Ellen's creek, tide was high.

Sea gull

 A couple of sea gulls are checking out the infield of the ball field.

 It was cloudy all day with a few showers, the sun did made a appearance just as it was setting, highlighting the trees.
Looking to the west the sun was going behind the trees.
I had a pancake breakfast at the fire hall, it was put on by the Metro firefighters group.
More yard work around home in afternoon, sun sets by 4:35 now.

Clouds

In Charlottetown for errands in morning, I spend the afternoon doing yard work around home.
Showers and drizzle most of the day, around 4 there was some signs of a break in the clouds in the west.
High for the day was 4.

Hike on Green road trail

 There were 24 showed up for the hike this morning, it was overcast at 5.  We were hiking for about 90 minutes. Part of the trail was in a hardwood stand of trees. The video is of a small stream that had a nice bubbling sound to it.  I used the lawn mower with the bagger to pick leaves in afternoon. I then put the lawn mower away for the season.

 The juniper trees are dropping their needles, the trail is covered with them in this area.

This combine was harvesting soy beans on Tuesday.
Rain for most of the day at 4. I attended a meeting this evening for the retired firefighters.

I cycled from home to the Mall, then cycled to Suffolk on the trail.

Still lots of pumpkins in this field in Union Road.  I cycled home by Winsloe and logged 43 km for the trip.
Sunny with light wind at a high of 17.  I was to cards in Warren Grove this evening.

Cycling

 It was a great day for cycling, five in our group and we met at least another 15 cyclists on the trail.
We cycled from Sherwood to Hampshire and back,  about 30 km.

 I took this photo looking north from the North River bridge on the way home, not a cloud in the sky.

After I got home I dug my Gladiolas, some of them were 8 cm across.

Cycling today

 It was sunny at 2 when I was cycling this afternoon. Wind was 30 gusting to 45 km/h mading for a windchill of -8. The trees are bare along the trail now.

 It was nice to see the blue sky for a change, still some green in the pasture field. these first two photos where taken in Greenvale.

This field in Loyalist Road has been tilled for the fall, showing the red colour of the soil.
I cycled 30 km from Milton to Greenvale and return.

Wet day

showers and drizzle all day at 5. Seems like forever since I have been cycling. The weather is looking better for the next few days, dryer but cooler.
I worked on Radio club papers for a while today, sorting, filing and some mailed.

Bare trees

 The maples have dropped all their leaves. Overcast all day with a high near 10.

This red oak is holding on to its leaves. I spend the morning helping my brother inlaw and changed the filter on the furance after lunch.

Clouds

 Sunny with cloudy periods with a high of 2. Windy as well, gusts to 50 km/h at one time.
 Late afternoon with the setting sun taken normally.

This last shot was using a filter to bring more colour.  I visited a sister in morning and gathered up leaves in afternoon and was to Waren Grove for cards in evening.
