Cycling

Today I cycled to Belvedere Ave, then cycled the trail to the Lower Malpeque road in Winsloe. The trail has firmed up a lot and I would say 90% of summer conditions.  I then cycled the roads home.
Temperature was around +1 but the wind was a NE gusting to 50 km/h. I cycled days in February that were warmer.

More bike problems

Today I cycled to Winsloe, then to the Belvedere Ave where I got this photo of seagulls by the pond near UPEI.  It was windy, 35 gusting 50 km/h from the south. Some times the wind will bring the seagulls inland.

I started with the old bike, but realized the first time I used the brakes there was a problem. As I was only a few hundred meters from home I returned and checked it out. The problem is that the rim split from wear by the brake pad. It is understandable when you realize the wheel is 25 years old and close to 40,000 km on it.
Overcast with a temp of 11

Chain problems

I was cycling today and was 5 km from when the chain broke. I was able to call home and got a ride without the bike.

But when home I put the carrier on the car and then got the bike.
The chain was worn out so I just replaced it.
Sunny the first part of the day then cloudy. High temp for the day was 5.

We got at least 15 cm of snow, it was wet so didn't drift  much. I am hoping it will be the last time to use the blower this season.

I walked to the business park, a lot of snow on the trees.

I was the first one out walking other than a fox. Close to 20 cm of snow on the bridge.

The sun was hitting the higher branches. It was +2 while I was out for the walk.

I then took a 30 minute walk by the woods. The storm clouds were moving in again.

There was murder of crows watching me at one place, about 30 but I didn't get them all in the photo.
At one time during the day the temperature was 12 but down to 8 when I was taking the walk.
