Lots of vapor

 Its was -15 with no wind when I visited neighbors at the barn today.

 This squirrel was visiting the bird feeder and then hid in the pine tree.

I worked for three hours on this large drift today, another three hours may complete it.

Snowmobile tracks.

I was out on the s/shoes for 30 minutes starting at 6:35. I was surprised to see that a snowmobile had followed the snowshoe trail though the woods.  I was to Montague during the afternoon.
It was sunny til midafternoon, then clouded over with a high temperature of -2.

Winter River

 This morning I was snowshoeing the Winter River trail, sunny at -10

 Getting snowshoes on, most people now use the new short stye of shoe.

We stopped for a group photo by the river.  We were out for almost two hours and by my gps travelled a little over 5 km.

What happen to the tree

 It was late in the day when I went out on the snowshoes, I was in the woods near the business park when I saw all this bark on the snow.

 The bits of bark were off the spruce tree that appears to be dieing.  My guess is that a woodpecker was having lunch by looking for grubs under the bark.

Sunny at -10 with a light wind, however it was down to -14 when I came in from the snowshoeing.

Brudenell

 I was snowshoeing today with the Three Rivers group. We were on the Confederation trail near the Brudenell river. The snow is almost to the top of the guard rails.

This is the trail bridge over the Brudenell river. We were out for 75 minutes, overcast with a temp of -5 and a stiff breeze.

Breadalbane trail

 One of the snowshoers needed help crossing this little creek.

 There was seven in the group today and we traveled the shorter loop, I measured it at 3.6 km.

When I got home the town equipment was clearing the sidewalk.
The temperature got up to +3 this afternoon.

Late March 3

 Late afternoon when I went snowshoeing around home, no one out before me.

 The snow has not settled any yet, You can only see bits of the fence.

I am guessing it was a crow that landed here to check something on the snow, not too often that I see pattern from the wing feathers in the snow.  High temperature was -10.
