North River

I was cycling for a couple of hours, photo is the North River north of the bridge. The channel is opening up

Boardwalk

 I was cycling for a couple hours, Lots of people using the boardwalk at Victoria park.

 Later I took a walk in the local woods, not much water in the creek today.

Looks like a weather front coming in when the cloud edge is a straight line.
Mostly cloudy with a temp of 1 but a strong west wind.

Victoria Park

 A bandshell going up in Victoria park.

 The high wind yesterday was pushing the ice almost onto the boardwalk.

At this point in Winsloe I turned for home.  Not as windy as yesterday still gusting from the west at 45 km/h.
Temperature at -2, wind chill -9

No cycling

 I was to the wood lot to check on the wood shed, all intact.
A sunny day with a temp of -2 bit at noon the wind was gusting to 65 km/h so no cycling.

 Late afternoon took a 45 minute walk in local woods. Sun was getting low as I was coming home.

Not much snow on the upper ball field.

Roma

 Snowshoeing today was at Roma.
A good group today, a total of 11 

 That is Georgetown that you see across the harbour
Temperature was around zero.

Water in creek

 Freezing rain overnight, then rain until late afternoon. I then took a walk down to the creek, lots of water and fast flowing.

Temperature was about +3

Pothole

Today I cycled the route that I travelled yesterday, Yesterday I was facing the sun and did not see the pothole.
I drove straight though it, I got quite a jolt, I was surprised that the front wheel did not collapse.
Overcast at -5 when I left home, up to -2 when I got home at 12:20.

Cycling

 Today I cycled to Victoria Park, this photo is looking at the west river, basically iced over.

 But lots of open water in the harbour.

I then cycled across town to the trail and rode it to the bypass Hwy. About 90% snow covered.
I then cycled the road to winsloe and on home. i was out for two hours, sunny at -2

Winter fun Demonstration

 I was at the winter demonstration in Hazel Grove today, the sled rides were very popular.

 Lots of people came to the event, a nice day with a temp of -2 and almost no wind.

 The kids like the camp fire and toasting marshmallows, hot chocolate in the pot..

Brudenell park

There was seven in the group today, we were on the bridge over Norton's creek when I took the photo.
We were on the trails at the Brudenell Provincial Park. Overcast with a temp of -2 with a light breeze.

Snow on trail

 I cycled to the mall and took the trail to the bypass Hwy, a light covering of snow on the trail.

I also walked over to the business park, no need for the snow shoes.
Temp was around -4 wind light wind.

I was for a walk mid afternoon, overcast at -7 and a biting 30km/h west wind.

Evening walk

Around 4:00 PM I walked to the business park and back, a little over the hour and logged over 4 km on the gps.  Temp around -6

Afternoon walk.

 Late afternoon I walked to the water tower in the business park, no need for snow shoes.

 After three days of temperatures above zero, the fields are almost totally bare.

As I got home there were a few clouds catching the rays from the setting sun.
I was out for a hour, Temp was a cool-12 plus the wind chill.

January cycling

 This morning I cycled to Victoria park, lots of raft ice in the harbour and the sun was trying to peek out.

 I cycled the trail from Grafton St to the bypass Hwy, bare but muddy in places.

I used the garden sprayer filled with warm water to rinse off the bike when I got home.
It was +5 when I left home but down to +2.5 when I got home
As I post this it is -7 with the forecast to go to -16, wind is NW gusting to 70km/h so wind chill is near -30 

Brudenell river

We were snowshoeing in the Brudenell area this morning, photo is the Brudenell river as seen from the bridge.

We had 7 in the group, snow was a bit soft as the temperature was around +5

Warm day

 WE had about 5 mm of rain with temp up to +5.

Late afternoon I was out on the snowshoes for 30 minutes.

Snow cap

 I was to the wood lot, a lot of snow on the roof of the wood shed.

Later I was out on the s-shoes for 3 km. The sun was getting low as I was nearing home.
 Temp this morning was -17 but by 5:00 PM up to -3

Snow shoeing

 I was snow shoeing this evening, the moon already well up at 4:30 .

 The only animal tracks I saw were rabbit in a few places.

I went as far as the edge of the business park, a bit of a work out breaking trail but much easier on the return.I was out for a hour and the temp was -18 when I got home. 

New snow

 We had over 30 cm of snow overnight. Seemed like it was 45 cm while breaking fresh trail.

 There was some geese overhead, must be overwintering here.

Lots of snow on the spruce trees, -5 with a 30 km/h wind, only in the open.
I was out on the shoes for 50 minutes and travelled 1 km, normally I would have gone 3 km.

Cycling day

 The sun was out when I left home but overcast by the time I got Winsloe.

I had a pit stop at Mr Sub in Winsloe and took the road home from here.
I logged 20 km for the trip, The weather from the airport was indicating -10 when I got home.
