Snowshoeing

 Lots of watercress at the spring head that never freezes. Today I was on the snoeshoes for 90 minutes

The trail goes under this tree that was blown down last fall.
Overcast at -2 with a north wind gusting to 45 km/h most of the day.

 The wind was gusting to 65+ km/h while I snowshoeing, hard to get a photo of the drifting snow.

I travelled just over 4 km. We didn't get much snow, only 2-3 cm. Some parts of the Maritimes got over 40 cm.  Temperature was -1 for the high for the day.

Walk to park

 After lunch I took a walk to the business park.  Overcast at +2

The row of trees at the edge of the park.  I was cycling in the morning for 45 minutes but then it started snowing after I was out about 20 minutes.

Cycling

Late afternoon I was cycling around Cornwall and rolled on 20 km.
Mostly overcast at +2 with a light east wind.

I took these pics at the North River bridge when I was out cycling.
It was overcast at -2 with a light breeze.

Snow by trail

 I cycled as far as the Farmer market, then to the bypass Hwy.

A lot of snow by the trail near the bypass. The city plows the snow of the trail from Grafton street to the bypass. I was out foe about a hour.
Sunny but cool at -4 and a north breeze.

Trail near mall

I was cycling for a couple hours starting around 3:00. I cycled to Charlottetown and then to Winsloe and then home.  Sunny with the temperature around zero but felt like +4, also there was a light north wind.

After supper I was cycling for a hour, at times a bit of snow drifting across the street.
Temperature was -2 but the wind was west gusting to 35 km/h

Not spring yet

 We got about 25 cm of snow and 90 km/h winds at a temp of -8  Out my back door.
I couldn't get out, I had to go out the front door and shovel out the back door.

 About 50 cm of snow on the walk.

 Still drifting snow by mid morning.

My neighbor had his driveway cleared with larger equipment then what I use.
  

Today's cycling

 Today I cycled to Victoria park, the harbour is almost ice free.

By the time I got home, the temp was+2 with the wing gusting to 40 km/h with a bit of snow in the air.

North River

Today I was cycling around the subdivision for 90 minutes, photo is the ice in the river as seen from Wilfred Dr. Mostly sunny , temp zero and a north wind giving a WC of -10.

Walking

 I went to the edge of the business park walking in the field. Not much snow on the fields.

No visible water flowing in the little creek. I was out for 40 minutes.
Temperature was +1 with a raw NW wind gusting around 45 km/h

Cycling

I was cycling for a hour today, just around the Sunrise Cove subdivision. In the last few minutes I had the rear brake cable break. I had one on hand, So I replaced it and now ready to ride again.
Mostly cloudy with a temp of -2 and a 15 km/h N wind. 

Logging

 Today I was walking west of Milton on the trail, first photo is the North River where the trail crosses it.

 This part of the was 90 % snow covered and logging in this area.

his is the unit used to haul out the logs. I walked 6 km.
Temp was around zero with a stiff SW wind.

After the wind storm

 I was walking for a hour around Sunrise Cove, these are roofing shingles in the snow, looks like they came of a house that was build last summer.

 The channel is starting to open south of the North River bridge

Milton creek

 I was walking today on the Confederation trail, some places it is bare.

 Other places hard packed snow and/or ice.

 Some information on names used by the railway.

The Milton creek, I walked from the creek to the fire school, I was walking for about 80 minutes.
A temperature of -3 and a light west wind.

Sunrise Cove

 I was out walking for a hour, sidewalk just ends at the trees.

Ball field is mostly bare. Cold today at -12 with a WC of -20

I was at the Home Show in Charlottetown today, This Arctic Cat would make a good woods tractor

Day 2

I was walking around Sunrise  Cove for a while today, pic is the North River as seen from Skywater drive.

Sunrise Cove

 Today I spend a hour walking around the Sunrise Cove subdivision.

Ellen's creek

A few ducks in the water at Ellen's creek. I was cycling around town for a couple hours, temp around zero.

Windy

 A cold windy day, -5 with the wind gusting to 70 km/h
I was out on the snowshoes and went as far as the  business park,

 Drifting snow on the open fields, much nicer in the woods.

The drifts were building at the edge of the ball field.
I used the blower to clear the driveway and the gps logged 3.8 km for the two events.

Cold

I was out on the snowshoes for a hour, travelled 3 km.
It was cold at -12 with a wind chill of -20 in the open. very nice when in the woods.

Evening walk

 It was near 6:00 PM before I went out on the snowshoes, the sun was almost down.

I went as far as the business park, and was out fot about 40 minutes.
Clear at -7 with the NW wind gusting to 40km/h.

Down East mall

 No ice or boats in the Montague harbour today.

I had lunch at the Lady Slipper restaurant which is in the Down east mall. I was joined by the Thursday snowshoeing group, we are done for the season.
At noon it was overcast at +9 in Montague
