Cruise ships

Two cruise ships all taller than the trees and buildings of Charlottetown, photo taken from across the North River.

The field house is nearing completion at the Terry Fox Sport Complex, Cornwall.
Sunny with a high of 24. I was in Charlottetown in the morning for a Radio club meeting, after lunch I installed the new kitchen faucet. This evening I cycled around Cornwall logging 25 km.

Pumpkins

A field for pumpkins partly harvested, this is in York.

The fall colours are starting to show on some trees, this was taken in Tracadie Cross.
I helped with the Raise A Reader program this morning in Cornwall. At 4:30 I drove to Winsloe and with another TO we cycled to Tracadie Cross and back to Winsloe arriving back at 7:50 PM.
It is now dark at 7:30 so we were using lights from York to Winsloe.
Another warm day a 24.

Tractor and grain wagon

Large tractor and a very large grain wagon.
The temp broke a record for Sept 28 at 24, some sunny breaks and showers as well.
I was to the town office in morning, clean up shop in afternoon and donated plasma this evening.

Sunny with cloudy periods with a high of 16. This morning I attended a Trail Officers meeting and was on the six O'clock news with Bloomer promoting our cycling event this coming weekend on October 1-3.

North Wiltshire

New toilet installed on trail in the North Wiltshire area.
Today's question is what is the propose of the device shown in the close up below?
This will be a hard one.
This afternoon I took part in the Cenotaph parade in Cornwall with the firefighters.
Then in the evening I drove to Milton and cycled from Milton to Hunter River and back to Milton logging 35 km. The temp was 13 when I started cycling but down to 8 went I got back home.

I saw both at the Sodbusters museum.

I had breakfast with the firefighters this morning and had new tires installed on the 07 car in the afternoon.

Giant egg

This coloured egg is in the town park in Vegreville.

Route 13 has a nice paved shoulder to cycle on.

This machine is at the Sodbuster's museum in Strome. Can anyone tell me what it was used for?

Overcast with showers in morning and rain this evening. I helped a neighbor cut up a large tree this morning, it needed the 24" chainsaw as it was over three feet in diameter. I then repaired a leaking faucet. I was surprised that when I went for parts, there was no charge because it was a Moem and at least 30 years old. I then mowed the lawn just finishing before the rain started.

Prairie grain fields



Back home this evening, I had a great time in the west. It was cold, one morning it was -5, Yesterday in got up to 13, that was the only day I cycled in shorts. I logged around 145 km for the week.

Land of no sales tax

-5 yesterday morning, -3.5 this morning. Yesterday afternoon it was sunny with at high of 11 with winds out of the northeast at 15 km. I went cycling yesterday afternoon on rte 13 and logged 20 km.

Crows


This afternoon I drove to Milton and then cycled to Fredericton and back to Milton logging 50 km. On the way back it started to rain as I was coming into Hunter River. So I rested for 20 minutes in the shelter at the Kent Ellis Park. The crows were checking on me as to why I stopped. One crow flew right inside and landed on the floor checking me out, of course that was before I had the camera out.

Shirts and evening mist

This was taken just west of Ellerslie of the mist over a bog along side the trail.

This evening along with three other TO's, we drove to Wellington and then I cycled to MacNeil Mills and back to Ellerslie logging 30 km. It had been raining before we started cycling, and the trail was still wet which made for harder cycling.

Cheese Lady

Sunday I was golfing with some firefighters on the rolling hills of Bonshaw.
Cloudy most of the day with a high of 18. After lunch I cut the grass and this evening I cycled to Westwood school to join the GoPEI group of cyclists. By the time I got home I had logged 25 km.

Vernon River to Uigg

Seven km of trail from Vernon River to Uigg is nearing completion, it still needs the fine gravel to be added.
This is the start at Vernon River, although it was raining at times, there was 5 cyclists and about 2 dozen hikers turned out to go the 7 km to Uigg. I cycled both ways and logged about 18 km.
This afternoon we drove to Montague in the rain.

Clouds

Photos were taken just west of Hunter River.

Although there were clouds but no rain, but I was talking to a resident from Uigg and he said they had a heavy rain shower. I cycled around town this morning. I was doing yard work this afternoon and this evening I cycled Hampshire to Glen Valley and back on the trail, I logged 44 on the trail and 16 around town. The high temp was 22.

More tractors

Not many Silver Kings on PEI, this one is older than I am.

Two nicely restored Fords, a 8N & 9N.

A nice line of David Brown's, although the 950 on the end of the line needs some work. I believe the tractor on the far end is International, not sure why it got in line.

Showers in morning, some sunny breaks in the high teens. Seems like I spend the day at the town office, I was there at noon, again for a meeting at 4:30 and a second meeting at 6:30.

Nice boat

This Yacht was docked at the Charlottetown harbour this afternoon.

This building is on the waterfront and is a restaurant. Can anyone tell me which restaurant?

Sunny at 21 and reasonable strong winds from the west. After lunch I cycled into Charlottetown and out the trail to the mall, then home on the highway. On the way in with the wind on my back I was clocking 58 km/h crossing the river. On the home with the wind in my face it was much slower, four gears slower than normal. After supper I cycled to the Terry Fox complex and back home logging 40 km for the day.

100 year old engine

This is the old 3 hp engine in the video, it runs well for a engine that is 101 years old.




sunny at 20 with winds 40-50 km/h. The tractor show was near Bonshaw. There was close to 100 old tractors and engines there.

Earl blows by

Leaves from the maples trees on the front lawn, the wind at first was from the east.

The wind was very gusty and made a mess of the Gladioluses.

I recorded 25 mm of rain and a temp of 21. I don't know the wind speed but for a couple of hours after lunch it was very gusty. No cycling today.

Another hot day at 30. I mowed the lawn this morning, I believe I cut it every Friday for five weeks now. After lunch I drove to Hampshire, cycled from Hampshire to Breadalbane and back to Hampshire logging 50 km.

Plums

Another hot day at 31, 33 in Summerside. This morning I donated plasma. We were scheduled to due a TO ride but they canceled it, a wise move. This evening I picked two baskets of plums and gave them to a sister to make jam.

Farmer plowing

Hard to believe that the fall plowing is under way and it is only September 1.



We set a heat record today, sunny at 32. This morning I attend a news confederance on football in Cornwall. This afternoon I cycled from Royalty Junction to Mount Stewart and back logging 56 km. If I had realized that it was going to be so hot, I would have shorten the ride. I attended a Radio Club meeting this evening.
