I volunteered to be a trail marshal for today's ride for the PEI Heart & Stroke ride. The was Charlottetown to Bedford and back on the Confederation Trail. It was billed as a 45 km ride.
The cyclists are getting ready at the starting gate.
The cyclists that were doing the road ride are the first out of the gate, they ride was 70 km, out to Cavendish and return. No sure of the number of cyclists but I would guess over 300.
Because of doubling back to check on riders, I logged 53 km. It was overcast at the time of the ride but later in the day the sun came out and the temperature was in the 20's
