June 30

Overcast at 19 , 2 mm of rain late in the day. Watched fireworks in Cornwall this evening.
Cycled to Cornwall in morning and into Charlottetown around noon. logged 35 km. 10 km on EB.

Canadian Flag




8 mm rain at 17 today. no cycling. 5 km on EB. Got ready for Canada Day July 1 by putting up our flag. Photos flag up, flower bed of pansies and start of grapes on grape vine.

Overcast at 26. I cycled Milton to Hunter River and back in afternoon. logged 34 km.

Montague parade




Sunny at 26. Along with 10 other Trail Officers (TOs)I took part in the Montague which started at 11:00. I then went to Uigg and helped Amateur Radio Operators set up antenna for field day.
At 5:00 I was at the airport to pickup my son who is home for a week. 9 km on Aspen.

St. Peters Bay



Sunny at 26 with a chance of a shower. This evening I drove to Morell and cycled from Morell to St Peters and on to Selkirk and then back to Morell. About three hours and 45 km. 5 km on EB.

Clouds




Mostly sunny at 26 and very high humidity during the afternoon. Gave a plasma donation this morning. Did some weeding in garden this afternoon. This evening drove to Hunter River and cycled to Emerald and back to Hunter River. Logged 38 km.

June 24



Overcast with sunny breaks at a high of 24. Cut the grass in afternoon. In evening drove to O'Leary and cycled trail logging 30 km, 11:00 PM when I got home. 10 km on EB

Rained today



Rained 15 mm with a temp 20 but light wind. No cycling. 10 km on EB
I received a nice set of pannier bags for fathers day.

55+ games day 2




Overcast most of the day at 24. I went to Cavendish and cycled the Homestead trail as part of the 55+ games. The trail is about 9 km and you make a guess on how long it will take you to cycled it. You are not allowed to use you watch. I guessed 24 minutes but was only 22:45. Some of the group were within 10 seconds of their guess. This afternoon I cycled from Milton to Hunter River and back to Milton so the total for the day was 43 km. Also 8 km on EB.

55+ games




Overcast this morning, sunny at 24 in afternoon. I took part in the 10 km bicycle race in Cavendish as part on the 55+ games. I finished first by a few seconds. I then cycled the Homestead trail as well for a total of 24 km. 10 km on EB as well. Photos Gold medal, second place Phil with race official Judy and third place Doug. Interesting item is that all three of us are Trail Officers.

Compost bin


Sunny at 24 today. I started rebuilding my compost bin this morning, I have finished one half.
This afternoon I cycled to Charlottetown, then to Milton and on to home. This evening I started cycling in Hunter River and cycled to Breadalbane and back to Hunter River, logging 60 km.

Wednesday June 17

Another nice day, sunny at 20. Visited a neighbor and worked around the yard this morning. Cycled around town after lunch and checked some of the town trails. Logged 16 km.
Attended a trails meeting at 4:00 and then a town meeting at 7:30, it was 10:00 by the time I got home. Sorry no photo. 10 km on EB.

Lady Slipper Flowers



Sunny at 23-24 with light wind, a perfect summer day. Mowed the lawn this morning, weeded the garden and thinned the carrots and beets in the afternoon. This evening cycled to Charlottetown mall, then on the trail to York, back to Milton and then to home. logged 35 km. In the Brackley saw some Lady slippers. See photos. 10 km on EB.

Emerald Event day 2




Sunny at 20 with light wind. I started cycling in Hunter River, Cycled to Emerald by myself, cycled to Hunter River with the group (about 30 cyclists today) and back to Emerald and then cycled back to Hunter River by myself for a total of 80 km. I then cycled around town for another 10 km so that gives me 90 km for the day. 10 km on EB this morning.

Emerald



Overcast in morning, sunny in afternoon at 15. We were doing a group ride today from Emerald to Borden and back to Emerald. About 40 cyclists in the group. I logged 38 km for the trip. I had a lobster supper with friends this evening. Photos are the start of the ride in Emerald and some of the cyclists on trail near Emerald.

So far today we received 50 mm of rain and it is forecast for another 4-5 hours of rain. temp 17.

Emerald



Rained 3 mm at 16. Overcast this evening. I drove to Hunter River and cycled to Emerald and back logging 45 km. I was out for three hours, trail was heavy going in places because of being wet.

Confederation Trail Bedford




Overcast at 16 but didn't rain. I cycled from Brackley to Tracadie Cross and back to Brackley, a distance of 35 km. Photos are of bog and trail in Bedford area and a mowed hay field in York.
The aroma from a freshly mowed hay field is something to remember. 10 km on EB.

Sunny at 12, wind out of the northeast at 35 km Cycled around town in morning, in evening drove to Murray River with other Officers and cycled to Murray Harbour and back to Murray River. Total km for day is 30. No photos. 10 km on EB.

Morell River




Sunny at 22 with light winds. I drove to Mount Stewart and cycled to St. Peters and back to Mount Stewart for a distance of 54 km. I crossed the Morell river and took photos, one looking out to St. Peters bay and the other looking up river towards Morell. Also photo of what looks like blue tents in a field. Any guesses what they are? Here is a hint, it is a blue berry field.
10 km on EB.

Blue Jays




Sunny at 20 with light wind, perfect summer day. Due to commitments, not able to get cycling and it was such a nice day. 10 km on EB
