Dec 31, 2019 new hwy

Today I cycled the new highway from the North River traffic circle to the New Haven traffic circle and back to North River. I then cycled Main street into Cornwall turning at Kellow drive and cycling home. I was out for 90 minutes. Temperature at -1 with a SW wind gusting to 35 km/h.
On checking my cycling totals for the year, I put 1,400 on the winter / rain bike and about 4,800 km on the summer bike, a Giant Cypress LX.

Allen Street

I was cycling for a couple hours today, cycled the trail from the mall to Grafton street, then to the bypass highway. Then I cycled the roads to Winsloe and then home.
Temp -3 but windy NW at 25 gusting to 40, guessing wind chill was around -10  -12

Cycling in snow

I was cycling for a hour today, mostly on the road but did checkout about 100 meters in the Winsloe area. If I stayed on the side where there is fresh snow it was okay to cycle on. If the is snow on the trail between December 1 and March 31 the snowmobiles have use of the trail.
Today the temperature was -3 with a light west wind.

Cycling near Clyde River

  Today I was cycling for a hour, I cycled the new highway to Clyde river. The first pic is the Clyde river taken from the bridge and second pic is the highway looking west from the bridge, Temp was around zero with a light west wind.

First day snowshoeing



After clearing the driveway again, I went out on the snowshoes for a hour. I logged 4500 steps. Lots of snow for snowshoeing.

Fire school

I was cycling for 90 minutes this afternoon. I cycled to the Mall, then cycled the trail to the Fire school west of of Winsloe.

Nov 9 ride

On Monday November 9 I rode the trail from the Charlottetown mall to Belvedere Ave. and the west to the Lower Malpeque road in Winsloe. A bit of snow near Royalty Junction but not enough to be a problem on the gravel trail.

Trail bridge

Only four of us in today's ride. We cycled from Sherwood road to Hampshire and back to Sherwood road. We are on the  North River trail bridge
Mostly sunny with a temp of 8 and a light west wind.

North Wiltshire Nov 2

Today I cycled the trail from Milton to Hunter River and return to Milton. A big maple across the trail in North Wiltshire, it took me 30 minutes with the campsaw to clear it enough to walk though.

Hunter River - Emerald

Today I Cycled from Hunter River to Emerald and back to Hunter River. A nice day for cycling, temp around +10 with a light west wind. I only saw one other cyclist in the two hours I was cycling. But I did see a least two dozen walkers.

Weekend of cycling

 Friday Oct 4 we cycled from Mt Herbert to Lake Verde in the rain
 Saturday Oct5 still wet, we started in Lake Verde and cycled to Iona.

Souris Elmira



 Today I cycled from Souris to Elmira, about 25 km one way and cycled back to Souris.
The fall colours taken Baltic and Alburn.


 The Lies-de-la-Madeleine car ferry unloading vehicles at Souris.  I now have cycled the complete trail and the the four spur lines twice this summer.

Potato field

 Late afternoon I took a walk to the Business park woods, there is a couple places that need the power saw. Potato field not ready to harvest yet, it is the other side of the local woods
Temp around 20 and so far today 60+ mm on rain. There was flooding on some Charlottetown streets.

Pumpkins

This evening our cycling group cycled from the Sherwood road to the Suffolk road and back to Sherwood road. Field of pumpkins are located near the Suffolk road, almost too dark for taking photo. We had one little shower but it was warm, about 20.

More trees

Today after lunch Jim & I spend 3 hours clearing trees off the trail. We were in the Hampshire area.
 We checked and cleared 9 km of trail.

Down trees

 I was cycling for a hour this evening, trees down everywhere on the trail. In many places the trail is completely blocked.

Ottawa

 The Memorial Service took place at the memorial wall which as all the names of the fallen
firefighters
 I was in Ottawa for the Firefighters' National Memorial Day Service.
I was about in the middle of the parade, About 250 firefighters were in the parade.

 Today I was with the Hillsborough River association cycling event. There was two rides, a 11 km and a 30 km ride. I rode in the 30km ride. There was a total of 30 cyclists for the two events

Mt Stewart


 On Saturday, August 17 I cycled from home to Mount  Stewart, then had a sandwich at the bakery before cycling back home. I left at 9:15 and got back home at 2:30
