Evening clouds

 A nice sunny day with a high of 26. I had breakfast with the retired firefighters then mowed the lawn after lunch. At 4:00 I cycled to Milton, then cycled the trail to Hampshire and back to the mall and the the highway home, logging 35 km.  The setting sun was highlighting the evening clouds.
At the shops at Holiday Island, there is a new attraction, the kids seem to enjoy them.

Kensington

 I was in Kensington this morning doing a survey on who is using the trail.

 After lunch I cycled into Summerside, this is the waterfront in the West End, lots of roses.

A couple of crows were checking out what was on the shore.  It was sunny at 26 but a bit windy, about 35 km/h. It was in my face going to Summerside but a big help on the return trip, I logged 31 km.

Dr Ellis Park

 I was at the beginner cycling event in Hunter River this evening, by 7:30 the clouds started looking like rain.

The unit with the B 35 on it was for the tracks to move a train onto a siding. The community should be proud of their park, it is very nice.  The rain started as I was unloading the bike at home.
I donated plasma in the morning.

Clouds

 This evening I cycled the trail from Milton to North Wiltshire and then back to Charlottetown. This field and clouds was taken in Hampshire.  The high temp for the day was 22 but windy, gusts to 50+ km/h.

This field is near the Loyalist road, not sure yet what the crop is, but now that it is up I can see two rows to each hill.  This morning I weeded and run the hoe though my garden.

Flowers

 This flowers are in the Mount Stewart area, almost in standing water that was in the ditch, Cocoa probably knows what they are called.

In the Morning I cycled from Suffolk to St Andrews east of Mount Stewart, about 43 km for the return trip,
The forecast was for rain mid-afternoon. But unfortunately the rain started around 11:00 and I was still 9 km from the car, so I was wet. At least it was warm at 18.

Roses & Cyclists

 These wild roses are located on the trail between Belvedere and Allan street.

This is most of the cyclists at the rest area in Milton, there were 24 in the group tonight. I cycled from home to Allen St, the to the Colville road and then back home logging 48 km.
Mostly sunny at 22 with light wind.

Wood Islands Trailhead

This afternoon I cycled Iona to Wood Islands, this photo is the start of the trail in Wood Islands.
 The length of this part of the trail is 21 km.
In Garfield there is new guard rail, the trail is near the edge of a shale pit.
It was overcast most of the day but it is raining this evening, the high is around 20.

Field Day

The Charlottetown Amateur Radio Club (CARC) was located at Andy's in Uigg.
The tower and antennas are on the ground ready to be put up.

Here the tower is up, the tractor was used to pull the tower in place..

Now all the antennas are in place and radio operations can start.
Mostly cloudy until around 6:00  PM, the the rain started. The high temp for the day was 20.
This evening I was at the fire hall for a lobster supper.

Clouds

We had light rain this afternoon but the skies were clearing by 7:00 PM. This morning I cycled into Charlottetown for a meeting and the rain started on the way home, I was damp but not wet.

This evening I attended the banquet for the 55+ summer games, It was lobster.

 Today I visited the Orwell Corner  Historic Village. This chain saw is a far cry from the one I purchased a couple months ago.
This evening I was to Hunter River to cycle with a beginner group of cyclists that have being meeting on Thursday evenings.  Sunny with clouds at 20.

55+ Summer games

 We had one couple in the event with a tandem bicycle, it was a 20 km ride.

The fastest time for doing the 20 km was 47:40.
I had a meeting in morning, after lunch I cycled Milton to Hunter River and back. Just as I was leaving Milton I had a flat tire on the rear wheel, I had a new tube with me, so I was able to replace it and continue the ride.
The first flat of the season.  Nice day sunny at 23 with light wind.

Fishermen

 The oyster fishermen are busy raking for oysters in the North River south of the bridge.
I cycled into Charlottetown and the took the trail to Milton and had cycled 40 km by the time I was home
After cycling I thinned a row of carrots and mowed the lawn. This is a bed of gladioli I have planted by the driveway, they look to be doing very well.
It was sunny with light wind at 20, a good day for cycling.

Dragon fly

 I was working in the garden before lunch when this dragon fly landed in the grass and stayed for a few minutes. I planted another row of beans and thinned two rows of carrots.

 This evenings ride from Sherwood road had twenty riders counting the three yellow shirts guys. we rode to Suffolk and back, about 24 km.

I was to the woodlot in the afternoon and saw this Lady's Slipper, that makes four locations I have found them in the wood lot.  A nice day, sunny at 20 with light wind.

Trail

 A sunny day at 20 with a light wind. I cycled from the mall to North Wiltshire on the trail, met about 15 cyclists. This toilet is one of six on the trail, this is in North Wiltshire near marker 162.

This is the upper end of the North River at low tide as seen from the trail. Counting both the road and the trail I cycled 45 km for the trip.

Dundas


 Yesterday I was to Dundas to the Small halls festival, it was a sold out crowd. Late getting home so that is why no posting last night.

The Lupins are out in full bloom. I was cycling yesterday and today I cycled from Milton to Hazel Grove and return, I logged 43 km. It was cloudy most of the day with some sunny breaks this evening, a pleasant 16.

Canada goose

This Canada goose was on the trail near Mount Stewart, I was within 10 m of it before it decided to fly off.
I cycled the trail from Bedford to Bristol this morning. After lunch I mowed lawn for a neighbor for three hours using his rideon mower. I attended a retired firefighters meeting this evening.
Sunny at 22 with light wind, a good day for cycling.

Flowers

 These flowers are on the edge of the trail in York. I cycled the trail from Charlottetown to Bedford and return.  I cycled from home so I logged 48 km for the trip.

These bee hives are in a field in Suffolk, I am guessing waiting to be moved to a blue berry field.
I planted my cucumbers today. It was sunny at 22, a real nice day.

Monday evening ride

 There was 16 cyclists for the ride this evening, we rode from Sherwood to Loyalist road, about 20 km return. Mostly sunny at 19. The visited with the neighbors in the morning and I was at the woodlot in the afternoon.
On the way home from Sherwood I came upon the City fire Department checking the pumpers.

Emerald day 2

 The drizzle had just ended as the group left Emerald at 11:00 AM. This photo taken where the trail crosses the Newton road.   There was about 45 cyclists in the ride today.

The turning point was the Sun & Shade campground in Borden-Carleton. The ride today was 18 km one way, most cyclists cycled back to Emerald.

Emerald day 1

 There was 70+ cyclists for the ride into Kensington today, we left Emerald at 11:.00 AM and the wind was on our back so the 14 km was a easy ride.

The Kensington town council provided a barbequed lunch for us. The rain started just as we started the ride back to Emerald. And the wind now is a head wind so we were somewhat wet when we got there.
I now have my gear and clothing in front of the dehumidifier drying out to be ready for tomorrow.

I was to a bike shop on Queen st and had a rack installed on Cypress XL, my son's bike. I plan to use it some, I mowed the lawn and was to the church to help with a take out supper.

Hunter River

 I was at the trail in Hunter River to cycle with a beginner cyclists, the were ten in the group.
We cycled to the Clyde road and back , about 9 km.

This fresh mowed hay was west of Hunter River, the haying season started early this year.
Sunny at 14 in late afternoon, overcast in the morning. I was to the wood lot in the afternoon.
