Rustico race

I was to South Rustico to cycle 17 km in a duathlon event, my son was doing the 7.5 k, run.

This building was a bank at one time and is one of the oldest stone buildings in PEI.

There was about 45/50 cyclists in the event, we had a 50 km/h head wind for the first 4 km, the wind made for a rough start to the race. I feel I should be able to do the 17 km in 40 minutes but today it took 44 minutes.
I finished cutting the grass after lunch and spend some time cutting the grass by hand some trees I had planted.

Gateway Village

Today I cycled from Emerald to Borden, this first photo is of the Hills of Borden as you approach Gatway Village.

There is two of this type of wind mills, sure are difference, because of the small blade size they can't be making too much power.
Some tourists are checking out the bridge segment on display at the village.
A nice day in the low twenty's with a nice breeze.

old scales

Not sure what this machine was used for, it is old but my guess is that it was for sealing cans.

A couple of scales, a platform beam scale on the bottom and a simple beam scale hanging from the beam.
I had breakfast with the firefighters in morning, then installed a belt on a riding lawn mower. then in the afternoon tided up the shop and did a couple little jobs for my daughter.
A hot day at 30+. I thought about going cycling in evening but we had a light shower with the forecast saying thunderstorm possible. So I left the cycling til tomorrow.

Cyclists & corn field

There was about 17 on the Sherwood ride this evening, we cycled to the Colville road and back.

This Trail along bike is a neat way to get the young ones started on cycling.

This cornfield in Hampshire would have gotten a boost from the hot weather last week.
I was working on the roof til 2:00 It was mostly sunny with a high of 22.
