Unusual wheels

This evening I cycled from St Peters to Souris and on the way back stopped in Fortune for a sandwich. One guy was touring with this bike, I could see using it in a parade, but to tour with it

These flowers were on the side of the trail near Five Houses, any body know what they are?
I had a flat tire this evening, replaced the tube and flat again when I got home, first flat this year.

Potato field

This field is in North Wiltshire, the potatoes have being up for a week.

There is a lot more colours in this patch of lupins.
I spend the afternoon with a neighbor looking for tractor parts. This evening I cycled from Milton to Hazel Grove and back, I just got home when there was a shower of rain.

Morning mist

I went back out at 7:30 and the sun had burned off the mist.
I mowed the lawn this morning, did some gardening in the afternoon and cycled Emerald to Borden and back this evening.

North river

This evening I cycled to UPEI, started on trail and cycled to Suffolk and the back home logging 40 km. Unfortunately I had a spoke break on the rear wheel on chain side, so I will need to have it replaced tomorrow. Today was light showers in morning, cloudy in afternoon and sunny in evening with a high of 20.

Diabetes ride

Today I cycled with Steve B from Summerside to Charlottetown in support of JDRF. Distance was 70 km. Steve started in North Cape this morning and planning on getting to East point this evening. It was a hard ride as we had a head wind most of the time.
This evening I drove to Uigg and took part in the Amateur Radio field day.
It was cloudy and a cool 15.

I was cycling this evening, I cycled from Milton to the Joe Ghiz park which is where the trail starts in Charlottetown.
The is a real nice park at the start of the trail.
Mostly sunny with a high of 24.

Fishing boat

I was cycling the Morell / St Peters area and this fishing boat was at work in St Peters bay.

This evening I was cycling in the Richmond / Port hill area and saw these Lady Slippers on the side of the trail.
A good summer day, sunny in the low 20's but now down to 12. I logged 70 km today.

Earth moving


This is were the old DeBlois warehouse was, it looks like they are taking 4-5 meters of earth of the site.
Sunny with clouds, at one time it was 17 but by evening it was down to 11.
I cycled to Charlottetown for a 4:00 meeting, it lasted two hours. I then cycled home by taking the trail to Milton and the road from Milton, logging 29 km.

These two guys are getting near the end of the job.

They are doing it the old way, no cherry picker for them, just give them some rope.
I cut the grass after lunch but not a great day, a bit of everything, sun, cloud and showers and cool at 10. No cycling today.

This is in Hampshire and I believe they are flocks.
Rain this morning, sunny breaks in evening with a cold wind.
I attended a meeting this morning and during the evening cycled 43 km.

Rainy day

Lots of buttercups in our back lawn. Last night we got 15 mm of rain. This afternoon we had a thunder storm, then a sunny break and back to showers. Temp was in low twenty's.

We still have our resident snake around out back door.

There was 150 people registered for the event to cycle along the Gulf Shore parkway.

The start was done with the cutting of the ribbon.
The day was overcast and windy but warm at 20, light rain this evening.

Cavendish

I was at Cavendish at 6:00 AM to cycle the Gulf Shore pathway with CBC morning radio host Matt. A short ride, about 9 km one way.

A couple of lobster fishing boats working near shore.
This evening I cycled Emerald to Borden and return, I was using Cypress, The one I fixed the wheel on a couple day ago, I logged 58 km for the day. Sunny breaks at 20.

Blueberry fields

Blueberry field in Hopefield.

The trail runs between two fields of blueberries. This evening I cycled from Melville to Murray Harbour. It was cloudy with a few sunny breaks in the afternoon, the high was 16 but by the time I had finished cycled it was 10.

Bicycle repairs

I replaced the rim on a bicycle wheel, it was the first time for me.
I visited my sister in Charlottetown in the morning and worked on the bike after lunch.
I am going to watch hockey in a few minutes, the last game of the season.
Overcast all day with showers this evening at a cool 13.

Robin

Can you spot the young robin in the leaves?
I was out cycling, Milton to Fredericton, about 48 km return.

The robin was near Hunter River. I cut the grass today and planted some more garden.
I think the temp got up to 18 but by the time I was getting back from cycling it was down to 10, almost too cool for shorts.

Monday night ride

It had rained 11 mm during the day but we still had 12 cyclists show up for the ride and it was a cool 11 degrees
This is east of York, the foliage is very fresh looking after the rain.

We had 80 riders taking part in the ride today, this is leaving Emerald and starting the trail.

This is some of the riders on the grade coming into Kinkora.
It was a perfect day for the ride, sun with a few clouds at a temp around 18 and no wind.

Emerald

The cyclists getting ready for the start of the Emerald to Kensington event

The was 85 registered for the first day of the event.

It was a nice sunny day at a cool 15 and a strong head wind of about 30-35 km/h. The wind sure felt good on the return trip with it on your back. The trip was 14 km one way, most of the cyclists completed the return trip.

On May 23 they started tearing down the warehouse.

Almost all gone today. I was out cycling for a couple hours this afternoon.
Mostly sunny with strong wind, my guess is 40-50 km/h Temp was 15.
I went to visit a sister but no one home. She should be home tomorrow if she wants supper.

Crab apple blossoms

This field of dandelions in Darlington has gone to seed.

The crabapple tree is loaded with blossoms.
Mostly sunny at 19. I plant some garden this afternoon, then cycled Milton to Hunter River and back. Attended a refirefighters meeting this evening. Now there is a hockey game on.

We usually have a snake around out house for the summer, this is the first that I have seen it this year. It was at our back step but I was able to pick it up and move it out of harms way when I was cutting the grass.

I attended a trail meeting this morning and I cut the grass this afternoon. This evening in very light rain I cycled to the Charlottetown mall, then to Milton and back home.
