South Carolina

It has be in the high 90's every day, on Thursday it hit 100F. I did cycle for a hour on Friday evening, the temp was down to the low 80's. It is near time to start packing for the return trip. The fore cast for the New England states is for cooler temp on Tuesday and Wednesday, which would make for better travelling.

I arrived here last evening. The temp was 98F this afternoon and the same forecast for tommorrow. Not really cycling weather so no cycling today.

Rain

We received 5 mm rain in a short thunder shower, forecast is for another 5 mm overnight.

The clouds after the shower, temp was around 22. no cycling today. No posts for a few days as I leave in the morning for a few days in the south. I plan to see you all on Canada Day.

Horses


Horses in a meadow in Cornwall. Sunny at 26 this afternoon. Cut the grass in morning, weeded the garden and thinned the carrots during the afternoon. This evening I cycled around town logging 20 km.

Tree on trail

I cycled from Mount Stewart to Cardigan and back this afternoon logging 50 km. There was three trees I had to move off the trail, this was from the wind storm we had Wednesday.
Sunny with a high temp of 24 and light wind today.

Mount Stewart


Sunny at 22 with light wind. In the morning I finished planting the garden. I then drove to York and cycled Mount Stewart and back to York. After coming home I cycled to Charlottetown for a meeting and by the time I was home I logged 59 km. Then this evening I attended a council meeting.

Windy day

The leaves were blown off the oak tree, during the afternoon there were wind gusts over 90 km/h. Also rain showers, one shower included pea size hail.
I was to the town office in the morning and I did a walk of the wood lot in the afternoon. No cycling

Borden Emerald event

Some of the 50 plus riders coming up the grade into Kinkora.

The rest and lunch area was at the Sun'n'shade campground in Borden.
Today's ride was a little longer than yesterday, I logged 39 km.
Sunny at 20 with a moderate wind.

Emerald ride

We started in Emerald and cycled to Kensington where we rested and had a snack.

This is the line up for the sausage. We had 60 plus taking part in the ride, after the break we cycled back to Emerald and I logged 29 km for the trip. After I got home I had to deliver 26 cold plate church suppers.

Cows

Milk cows in pasture in York.
Sunny with a high of 24. I donated plasma this morning and the afternoon cycled from Brackley to Tracadie Cross and back logging 38 km. This evening worked at the church for couple of hours preparing for a take out cold plate dinner.

Hay field that is freshly mowed located in Hampshire.
Mostly sunny but cool. I was in Charlottetown this morning doing some errands and registered the car, it now costs 90.00 a year. Late afternoon I cycled around town and checked some of the town trails logging 20 km. I attended a meeting this evening.

A sunny day with some clouds in the afternoon. In the morning I turned the compost pile, I then cut the grass and this evening went cycling, I started in North Wiltshire and cycled to Emerald and back logging 48 km.

Fox

Fox cub, one of five that I counted at the site.

One of the older foxes was keeping a eye on me from a distance, The dens are just off the trail west of Allen street.
High of 18 and overcast with light showers in evening. I cycled to Milton on the road and then took the trail to Charlottetown. We then had a spot Bloomer (the CBC weatherman) promoting our Emerald cycling event this weekend. I then cycled home logging 32 km for the trip.

Canada geese

There was two goslings in the pond as well, but they were staying very close.
I started cycling in Brackley and cycled to Tracadie cross and turned back when it started to rain. I had light rain all the way back to Brackley arriving at 3:00 PM. I logged 30 km.

York

This morning I cycled to Farmers market and then to York where I met this group of women cyclists from Moncton who were cycling to Elmira. I then cycled back home logging 35 km.
Sunny in morning with a high of 20, rain started around 3:30 and by 9:00 we received 50 mm.

Go PEI

Students taking part in the Cornwall launch of the Go PEI fitness program. It was estimated to be 900 students there. I took part in the walk from the town hall and gave greetings on behalf of the town.
Mostly overcast with light drizzle at times with a high of 16. At 2:30 I started cycling in Milton and cycled to west of Hunter River and back logging 40 km.

Rain day

It has being raining all day with a high of 13. I was at the school in the morning doing a inspection of the antenna. This evening (in the rain) I was to Summerside to do a news release and photo with other trail officers on patroling the trail.

Crabapple tree

Flowering Crabapple tree starting to come out in blossom.

Over cast with some sun with a high around 18.
I transplanted some trees and then after lunch cut the grass. I drove to Charlottetown to get cold plate lobster suppers from Trinity United Church, the suppers were very good. This I attended a Radio Club meeting. Again no cycling.

The wharf was made to be like a wave.

Some boats but nothing like what was in Vancouver.
Light rain in morning and heavy rain late afternoon and evening at a cool 12.
No cycling and no grass cut, hopefully tomorrow. I attended a town meeting at 4:30.
