Antennas

I spend a few hours today helping remove the antennas from the old Red Cross building.

A boom truck took care of the going up and down.

Taking the multi band beam antenna apart for transport.

Buddy has a good view from the bucket of the boom truck.
Overcast all day with a high of 14 but the wind was light. No cycling today.

Pond water control

I  took these photos on Saturday near the trail at Harmony Junction..

It seems to be a lot of little dams to control the flow of water from the pond. The green on the sides is hydro seeding where the grass seed is mixed with water and fertilizer.

The water table must be still low as there no water flowing from this artisan well.
Cloudy all day and a cool 10 and some what windy. The Monday evening group cycled from the Farmers Market to Winsloe and back.

Old car

I was to a birthday party today.

This old Plymouth was there as well, someone said it is 64 years old.

The maple trees are starting to change colour.

It was sunny at 22 but windy, my guess it was gusting to 50 km/h at times.
At noon I cycled around Charlottetown and the wind was right in my face coming home.

Souris & East Point

Today I drove to Souris and cycled to Harmony Junction and back to Souris. I now have cycled the complete trail this summer.

Only 1 km left to go to reach the East Point lighthouse, 15 Saturdays since we left North Cape.

We have reached the lighthouse, very windy here today.

We celebrated finishing the ride with a little champagne. It was nice in the sun on the lee side of the lighthouse.  Temperature was around 20.

I cycled to the water front and saw that the Veendam is in port today.

I then cycled the trail from Grafton Street to Winsloe, a maintenance crew was chipping some brush near the Farmer's market.  Sunny but a cool 12 with a brisk breeze out of the west.

70 mm rain

Amost 70 mm of rain last night.

This punkin patch is located in York.

I cycled with the group out to Suffolk this evening, When we stopped at marker 185 for a rest before starting back, this dragon fly was checking out my tire. From the look of it I should be checking it as well, it is starting to show some wear. A warm day at 22 but windy, during the afternoon it was gusting to 60km/h but was only hitting 50 while we were cycling.

Harmony Junction

This distillery grows its own grapes and the brew named Shine used to be what the home crafted drink was called.

Looking st the Souris water front from the causeway leading into Souris. The water was quite rough, lots of whitecaps. It was very windy, gust to 60 km/h.

This is the van and trailer I drove to Harmony Junction (near Souris) to take the Uncover the Island 2014 cyclists back to their starting location in Bridgetown.

Chickadee

Today I had a pair of Chickadees at the bird feeder, I have wild song bird food (seeds) in it.

The feeder has been up for the summer and the seed was disappearing but I never saw what was eating it til today.

Mid afternoon I cycled in to Victoria Park, lots of cars parked along the boardwalk and lots of people out walking.  I then cycled across town to the Confederation Trail and cycled it to Milton and then the road home. A fair number of cyclists on the trail. The temperature was up to 20 so with the sun a nice day.

Drizzle day

I played 9 holes of golf today in light drizzle, it had rained earlier in the day.
It was a fun day with the Fire Department. The grass was wet so I had wet feet by the time I finished.

Afterwards I went to the fire hall for a corn boil and some ice cream.
The fire department was showing off the "new to them" ladder truck.
The temp was around 15.

Steamer Boat House

A boat heading out to the harbour.  I cycled around Victoria Park and then along the water front.

The Steamer Boat House is the only floating restaurant in the Charlottetown area.

Prices seem okay as well, 1/2 lb mussels with beer for $10.
I then cycled to Winsloe on the trail and then home. High temperature for the day was 15.

Confederation Trail 100%

Yesterday I cycled from York to Mount Stewart and back. While I was in York I took this photo of Vesey's  flower garden.

This morning there was a celebration because of PEI completing the PEI section of the TransCanada Trail.

Our name for it is the Confederation trail.

After a hour of speeches, it was time for cake and snacks.
I had cycled to the Joe Ghiz park where the celebration was held. After leaving I cycled home Via Winsloe.
I then mowed the lawn. It was windy this morning with a temp of 16.
