More snow

Around 3:00 I drove to Milton, then cycled the trail to North Wiltshire and return, 25 km for the trip.
This snow drift is located in North Wiltshire. A cooler day today, a high temperature of 16.

Seagull

 This evening I was cycling in the Montague area. The seagull stopped by to check us out, probably looking for food.

 A few boats in the water at the water front. We started cycling at the waterfront and cycled towards Brudenell, we went as far as route #3.

I planted my garden and most of the Gladiolas today as well.

Still snow

 At 4:00 PM I started cycling, first to the mall, then took the trail to Milton. This photo of snow was in Milton. Had to believe still snow around as the last few days the temperature was in the high twenty's.

The high temperatures have the leaves opening up on the trees.

Vesey's seeds

 Raining today, we got about 10-12  mm. I was to Vesey's seeds for my garden seeds in the morning.

Late afternoon I attended a meeting with the Trail Volunteers, we got new jackets to start the season.
Although only seven here, I understand there now is 22 volunteers in the group.

Case tractor

 A big Case Tractor tilling a field near the Union road.

 We had 14 in the cycling group this evening, we cycling from the Sherwood road to York and back.

The setting sun over the North River at 8:20.
The temperature was up to 25 midafternoon. But we had a strong west wind gusting to 45 km/h this evening.

Sunset

The setting sun at 8:30 PM. I was to Montague in the afternoon visiting family. Then about 7:00 I went cycling, I cycled to the Farmers market, then cycled the trail to Winsloe and then the roads home arriving at 8:30. Temp was 14 when I got home and a stiff west breeze

Ship

 I was cycling after lunch, I cycled to Victoria park, This Coast Guard ship was just leaving.

This fox in the bushes watching me go by was just behind the University. I then cycled to Winsloe and the home by the road. It was sunny at a cool 10 and a strong west wind, I am guessing about 50 km/h.

Vernon River

 This evening I was cycling with this group, we started in Vernon River and cycled to Uigg and back.
I then cycled to where the trail splits around this hemlock tree. It was a nice evening for cycling.
Sunny at 15 with a light wind.

Gardening

 I tilled the garden just before lunch, now I need to get some seeds.

The tiller is old but still does a good job. Midafternoon I went cycling, I cycled to the mall, took the trail to Winsloe and then the roads home. When I went cycling the temperature was 17 but now only 11 with light rain.

 A neighbor was having lime put on the field.

 And he had started disking as well.

This evening I cycled to York, still snow in York.
I spend the afternoon on yard work, sunny at 18.

Saturday

I had breakfast with the Radio club members, raked lawn for couple hours. I then went cycling, I cycled to the mall, took the trail to Winsloe and the roads home. I was out for 90 minutes. I then did another hour of raking. A perfect day, sunny a 25 with a light west breeze.

Geese

 Today I cycled to Victoria park, then across town to the trail. I then cycled the trail to Royalty Junction. These geese a pond just west of the Sherwood road.

I then cycled the road to Winsloe and checked the trail, still lots of snow east of the Winsloe road.
We had a high temperature of 22 today.

York

 After lunch I cycled from BJ's trucks to York. First pic is coming into York.

 This photo is just east of York, no cycling over this drift, must be 50 cm deep.

This drift is just as you leave BJ's. Other than these drifts the rest of the trail is almost like the summer time.
Temperature was up to 17 and just a light wind.  I think I will go to cards tonight.

Walk in woods

 Still snow along the edge of the ballfield.

 It is only a few places but this drift is at the edge of the business park. I was out for a 45 minutes walk though the woods around 4:00.

Just a normal flow of water in the little creek, the rain started at midnight but only 10-12 mm.

 Today I cycled the trail from Belvedere Ave to Royalty road, then cycled the roads to Winsloe.

Damaged tree

 Very little snow left in the woods, we had light rain at 10 this morning.

 This little tree was broken in two places by the snow.

 So with some stir sticks I did some repairs, time will tell if it works.

The first cruse ship of the season in the Charlottetown harbour.
After the walk in the woods, Cycled the Victoria park, Grafton street, Sherwood road loop.

Cycling

 I cycled to Winsloe, then to the Sherwood road and the trail to Grafton street. I then cycled across town to Victoria park.  The new apartment building is facing Kings square.

The was a strong from the south but the temperature was 10.

Bike lane open

 Oyster fishermen raking for oysters off Lewis point.

 I cycled around Victoria park and the bike lane is now open for the summer.

I cycled the trail from Grafton street to to this snow which is 0.8 km west of the Sherwood road.
A cool day at6 with a cool north wind.

Trail in Hampshire

 I walked about 2.5 km west from the Colville road, still about  20% snow covered.

There was a couple places were a small washout happen
About 12 but windy.  After lunch I cycled to Victoria park, then to the trail at Grafton st. I cycled the trail to the bypass Hwy, then cycled the road home.

Appin road

 I was hiking the Appin road trails this morning, most of us were using snow shoes.

Lots of water flowing in the creek, a sunny day at 10 and windy but not a issue in the woods.

May 5

 I cycled to Victoria Park, no ice in the harbour now. It was sunny at 16 with a brisk west wind.

I then cycled the trail west til I came to this drift west of the Sherwood road. Someone had tried opening the trail but didn't finish the job. I then cycled to the Sherwood road, took Rte 2 to Winsloe and the cycled the road back home. I was to Warren Grove for cards.

Confederation trail

 The trail by the university, snow on the side but the gravel is dry and good cycling.

Near the Sherwood road I came to this, so I turn off at the Sherwood road.
I had breakfast with some retired staff, then at 11:00 I donated plasma. Late afternoon I went cycling. I cycled to Victoria park, then across town to the trail at Grafton street and took the trail to Sherwood road.
Sunny at 20 with a light southwest wind.
