Charlottetown harbour




Sunny at 30+ today. This morning I had breakfast at Maggie's with a cousin that is here from Vancouver. My sisters and a brother joined as well. This evening I cycled to Charlottetown and cycled with a group called Critical Mass and cycled around town as a group finishing at Victoria Park for ice cream. I then cycled to Milton and on home logging 41 km. I now have logged 3,200 km for the season. Photos were taken near the cannons in the park looking out over the harbour.

Rain day



Cloudy with scattered showers at 26, steady rain this evening. Donated plasma this morning.
Helped daughter with move, actual moving now completed. Still some jobs to be done around her house. There was a cycling ride planned for Wellington this evening but cancelled because of the rain. 5 km on EB this morning. Photos are of rain, hard to show how hard it was raining.

Forest Hills




sunny at 28. I went golfing with a friend at Forest Hills golf course in Cavendish this morning.
It was just a practice game, no score keep. It had been two years for both of us since we had played a round. This evening cycled to Farmers market in Charlottetown and took trail to Milton and then home, logged 25 km. 10 km on EB in morning.

Mount Stewart




Sunny at a very hot 26. I cycled to a meeting at town office in morning, attended cousin's funeral in the afternoon. At 6:00 PM started cycling in Brackley and cycled to Mount Stewart with another TO and got a ride back to Brackley. 45 km for the day.

Cloudy with sunny breaks at 26, thunder showers this evening. I mowed the lawn today and this evening between showers cycled to the Charlottetown mall, then to Winsloe and the home logging 20 km. 10 km on EB in morning. Photos taken near Harmony Junction on the trail.

Elmira




Sunny at 24 with light wind. I drove to Souris with another Trail Officer (TO) and cycled from Souris to Elmira and then back to Souris logging 44 km. Elmira was having their annual strawberry festival. Photos are various shots of the festival.

Grain field




Overcast until mid afternoon. this evening temp was 18. I had breakfast this morning with retired firefighters. Around 4:00 PM. I drove to Milton with Aspen, then cycled to Clyde road and back to Winsloe and the to Milton, 50 km for the trip. 10 km on EB in morning.

Kinkora trail

Sunny with clouds at 22. This I drove to Emerald and cycled with other TO's to Albany and then back to Kinkora. I logged 17 km, a rather short ride. 10 km on EB this morning.

My rain gauge shows 24 mm by supper time, temp 22. Spend the day helping others, Checking a water leak, checking wiring on lawn mower and installing mirror, shower rod etc for my daughter.

Road less travelled



Overcast at 24, threat of rain during afternoon, showers this evening. I cycled to neighbors and back, maybe 3 km. Also 5 km on EB. I helped my daughter move across town this afternoon and evening. Photos: A summer road in Hartsville, It 's not kept open in the winter time.

July 20 post



As it was late when I got home, I am posting this morning. Sunny at 27 with light wind.
Cycled around town in morning, in evening drove to Coleman with other trail officers (TO) and then with another TO cycled to Alberton on the trail. Logged 31 km on and 12 around town.
Photos are potato field in Cornwall. The four rows with the white blossoms must be a difference variety then the rest of the field. Who can tell me which variety has the white blossoms?

Kensington area




Cloudy with sunny breaks at 25. This afternoon I drove to Fredericton with Aspen. I then cycled the trail to Kensington and the back to Fredericton logging 52 km. 10 km on EB in morning.

grain field



12 mm of rain this morning, overcast at 20 this evening. I donated plasma this morning, and the evening cycled from Milton to the Clyde road and back to Milton logging 42 km. 10 km on EB.
Photos are grain field in Hampshire starting to ripen and a Canola field in North Wiltshire. From where I was standing I could see five fields of Canola.

North Cape windmills




Cloudy with sunny breaks at 22. Drove to North Cape with some friends and had lunch at the Wind & Reef Restaurant. Lunch was very good. This evening I cycled to Milton and then to Charlottetown on the trail and then to home on the highway. I logged 28 km. 10 km on EB as well.

R/C Airplane


Sunny at 22 with light wind. I was to the Town office this morning and at Town meeting this evening.
Yard work and weeding the garden in the afternoon. No cycling on Aspen, 10 km on EB.
I decided that I should learn to fly a model airplane, so I purchased a twin motor R/C airplane. You need very light wind conditions to fly it, 7 km or less. So I haven't mastered it yet and the landings so far are rough. Photo is plane and control.

Bedford bog



sunny at 22. Today I started in Wood Islands and cycled to Murray Harbour with other trail officers. Logged 23 km. 10 km on EB as well.

Clouds



Mostly sunny this afternoon at 22, about two mm of rain in showers this morning.
This evening, I cycled to Charlottetown mall and the took trail to York. There was a group of 12 that was cycling together. I then cycled to Milton and took Rte 248 home logging 40 km, also 10 km on EB

Mount Stewart




overcast, very windy at 22 with threat of rain in late afternoon. I drove to Brackley and started cycling with Aspen and cycled to Mount Stewart and back to Brackley logging 53 km for the trip.
I was talking to one cyclist that told me he started in Vancouver and is going to St John's. I was temped to ask if I could join him for the rest of the trip.

Georgetown parade




Another sunny day at 25. I drove to Georgetown and with other Trail Officers took part in the parade with started at 11:00 AM. By doing a lot of cycling in circles I logged 10 km on Aspen. After the parade I had couple of hotdogs and then drove home. In the afternoon I helped a neighbor get his lawn mower started, the problem was with the wiring at the starter plus a failed battery. 10 km on EB early morning.

Friday

Sunny at 27, cycled to town office in morning. In afternoon drove to Montague and did some visiting. This evening cycled to Charlottetown Mall, then cycled trail to Milton and took Rte 248 home, logged 36 km for the day. 10 km on EB No photos today.

Grape vine


Sunny at 20 with light wind. At 8:00 AM I met another Trail Officer (TO) in Milton and drove to Alberton. At 10:00 another TO and myself started East on the trail, by 2:00 were in Richmond and had logged 64 km. I was back home by 4:00 PM.

Office building



Sunny at 16 with light wind. I donated plasma at noon and weeded the garden in morning. I cycled to Charlottetown for the plasma donation and cycled home by of Winsloe logging 30 km.

Big ship


Sunny this afternoon at 15. This morning I cycled in to Charlottetown and in late afternoon cycled to Cornwall for a meeting. I logged 32 km on Aspen. 10 km on EB in morning.

Pet snake

Another day of sun, cloud, mist & rain at 18. I turned the compost pile this afternoon. Drove to St Peters and with another Trail Officer cycled to Souris, about 37 km. Again had all three weather conditions, rain, mist and a few sunny breaks. 10 km on EB.

North Rustico


Another mix of a day sunny breaks, clouds and light rain at 20. Took son to airport in morning. Cycled around town in afternoon, logged 20 km. In evening, drove to North Rustico to see fireworks, unfortunately by the time they started there was mist and low clouds, so the higher displays were into the clouds. 10 km on EB in morning.
