Walking in the rain

Another bridge across the little creek, a good flow of water running today.

I walked to the business park and this squirrel was keeping a eye on me.

And the woodpecker is still working on the poplar tree.

I was out for 75 minutes and travelled 3 km. there was light rain at times with a temp of +4

Trees down

Video from Nov 11 walk at wood lot looking for down trees.

Snowshoeing

I was snowshoeing for a hour or more this afternoon, making fresh tracks at the edge of a field.

Not far from home, I can see the Cornwall water tower on the horizon.

Still lots of snow on the trees, this trail is in the woods near the ball field.
Temp was -10 with strong NW wind for a windchill of -18-20

Dead poplar tree

I was walking in the local woods today, I used the camp saw to take limbs of this that fell partly on a trail.
A wood pecker must have been getting a good lunch on this dead tree, lots of chips on the ground
A misty rain at +2 and I logged 3 km.

Snowshoes

I was out on the snowshoes today for a hour. I guessing about 10 cm of fresh snow.
This tree fell on the trail, using camp saw I took off a few branches, next day I will take some more.

The wet snow is sticking to the branches, by the forecast it will be there for a few days.

Yesterday I walked the local trail to the business park. Luckily this big tree fell away from the trail. But the trees in third photo are on the trail and will need some work with the bucksaw.
Temp was -8 with gale force wind, wind chill -20.

Colville road

Today I cycled the trail from the mall to the Colville road, the to the Brackley road and then to the Lower Malpeque road. It was sunny but cool at zero with a west wind gusting at times to 40 km/h.

Coles creek

Today I cycled from Coles creek (Milton) to Darlington and return. Cool at 2 and a strong west wing gusting to 60km/h. A lot of the trail is sheltered but there is a few open places. When going west and met one of those gusts it would almost stop you in your tracks.

Next is going though Breadalbane, then a couple clips at Emerald junction. You have a choice of going to Kinkora or Kensington. Last two clips in Hunter River, crow and the Dr, kent Ellis park.

Rain all day, I was out for a 45 minute walk late afternoon in the local woods. About a dozen trees down but not all on the trail. A couple of the big ones fell away from the trail. A couple just tipped out at the roots.

Nov 5 Monday ride

The second and 4th clips are the same tree that is in the still photos. The new gravel on the trail between York and Union road is pleasure to ride on. Thumps up to the maintenance crew.

Clearing the trail

Today I took some limbs off the tree on the way to Suffolk. On the way back Jim & I stopped cut the top off to open the trail. We had 5 cyclists in the group today.

Trees down

First clips at trees that I took limbs off and was walking bike under and over trees. Clip 4 was coming into Milton, oak tree on left still has leaves. Last clip in Brackley where the Juniper trees are starting to drop their neddles.

After the gale.

I was cycling on the trail today, lots of trees down in the Hampshire area, my camp saw failed on the filth tree.
The oak trees are the only ones still holding onto their leaves.

Last night we had wind gusting over 90 km/h, still gusting to 55 km/h while I was on the trail.

Today only showers

Today I did the same walk but took the buck saw with me. Lighter than the power saw but more work. Big end about 25 cm. I was over a km from home so the buck saw was a easier carry.
There was a 20 minute shower on the way home, temp nice at 16.

A lot of rain this week, last cycling was Monday. Yesterday and again today I was out for a 4 km walk. photos are of a couple trees down on trail, I was able to remove the smaller one using camp saw. Tree was about 12 cm were I cut it, will need the power saw for the bigger one.
