Cycling on the trail

I was cycling today, I cycled to the mall, then took the trail to york, then back to Milton and the road home.
Still some snow on the side in the Royalty Junction area.

This little snake was enjoying the sun near the Union road.

I turned back at this sign in York. Sunny at 9 but the wind was a little strong at 30-35 km/h.
I attended a radio club meeting this evening.

Clear sky

What to do when a log is too big to be moved by one person.

You split it in two.

It was overcast most of the day but cleared late in the afternoon, high temp for the day was 5.
I attended a cycling meeting in the morning.

Snow on trail

This afternoon I cycled to Victoria Park, the dedicated bike lane opened May 1.

I then cycled to the water front, the floating docks are in the water but no boats yet.

I then cycled the Confederation trail to Winsloe, this snow drift near the Winsloe road was the only place that I had to walk the bike.  It was mostly sunny with a temperature of 8.

Cycling day

After lunch I was cycling, I cycled the highway from Peter Pan to New Haven.
Lots of clouds in the sky, This photo is the North River looking north from the bridge.

The clouds seem to be coming in nice rows, temperature was around 15.

This is a tourist attraction called Fairyland. It has been closed for a few years and now the new highway does not go by it.

Final day of course

Today we had a lesson on how to take down a lodged tree.

Successfully it is on the ground, the procedure was to roll it.

Putting the cutting bar though the hinge is a no no.

These five guys are all with Cycle PEI and they all got their certificates.

Even the PEI Cycler passed the course.

Another at Watervale

We started the morning with instruction on how to use brush saws.

We then had a little practice on using the saw.

The instructor is giving reasons on why the tree fell as it did.

Another one just ready to fall, this one fell as planned.
The rain started as I was driving home from the woodlot.
