This spring is the headwater for one of the streams near home, I have never seen it freeze over.

Looking down stream from the same location, amazing how green the vegetation stays.
I was out hiking near home for a hour in the afternoon, light rain at +5.

This is the little creek near home, all frozen over with a little snow on top.
As I post this, temp is -2 and we had 3-4 cm of snow.

  1. I'm surprised it doesn't, aren't the temperatures below freezing during the winter over there? The green leaves look cool against the snow, nice picture thanks for sharing!

  2. There is enough heat in the water as it comes out of the ground to keep it from freezing. I should tale a thermometer with me and check it.
